artist site design

For this design I wanted to keep it real simple with a color background (undetermined) with a title banner at the top with a rotating flash player that scroll through the images and will allow for selected images to be enlarged. I have seen a few websites with similar designs will doing our research and found this type of website to be the easiest type to navigate. The bottom portion will contain information about the artist and the types of work that can be found within the website. I know it is rather simple for a design but I found to much information or too many images placed all over the site can be confusing for viewers.

Fracking E-Card Final

This E-card was designed to promote the dangers involved in fracking. For this design I followed the 400x300 size parameter which i found very tricky and difficult to have a smooth image once the image was enlarged. The front cover I used a simple background of a drilling platform with multi color letters spelling out the frustration involved with this practice. The middle part shows an ordinary kitchen sink with a glass of water on fire from the chemicals pumped into the ground. With multi colored facts about the dangers of fracking. The back portion has a simple message that we must stop fracking to protect our clean water supplies. I used Adobe Illustrator to trace the image on the back page then used the vector tool to design the banned symbol. To achieve the lettering for this project I used outerglow, outer shadow, I also add 40% noise to the background to give the overall photo more depth. To separate the three portions I used the lock grid to achieve equal spacing. Overall, this was a fun project but the small dimensions of the project became a major hurddle I have struggled with.

E-Card Sketches

For my E-Card concept I have decided to use Hydraulic  Fracking awareness as my subject. The first sketch shows a picture of a metal drilling rig used for hydraulic fracking with big bold letter surrounding the image stating " STOP FRACKING WITH US". The inside of the E-card has a picture of a kitchen sink with water coming out of the faucet, with a glass of water on fire. Above that will be informational text involving the dangers of fracking to our drinking water. The back cover has a list of chemicals that are being pumped into the ground for fracking in the shape of a drilling platform. Any suggestions or ideas would be excellent.

Stevie wonder book cover

I decided to go with a mono tone theme to match the piano the artist has played throughout his career. The title font was performed by implementing the bulge feature in Photoshop. The front cover has a faded musical notes in the background of the title font. The warped key board was bent and cut to fit into the overall design of the cover. The Sunglasses has always been Stevie wonder's trade mark and I felt it important to represent this fact within the cover.
